Moorfields is one of the world's leading eye hospitals, providing expertise in clinical care, research, and education. We are expanding our network of satellite sites, providing acute ophthalmic services at St Georges and Croydon and community services in Queen Marys. Our main focus is the treatment and care of NHS patients with a wide range of eye problems, from common complaints to rare conditions which require treatments not available anywhere else in the UK. We treat people at our main hospital base in London's City Road and at over 20 satellite facilities in and around the capital, which enables us to provide expert treatment closer to patient’s homes.
The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, planning, and provision of specialist ophthalmic nursing advice and carries out specialist nursing procedures, including surgical patients. The post holder will provide clinical and managerial leadership to junior staff, students, and may undertake research, lead clinical audits in their own specialist area. They will assist the Ward Manager in ensuring the effective running of the ward; out-of-hours urgent care service; outpatient activities carried out on the ward. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients and always working in a manner that promotes dignity and human rights through the adoption of person-centered care principles.
