Staff Nurse Opportunity - Lamesley Ward

We have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Nurse to join Lamesley Ward, our female adult acute inpatient ward based at Bamburgh Clinic, St Nicholas Hospital, part of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW).

About the Role

We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Registered Nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team dedicated to promoting recovery and achieving positive outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for:

  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based care
  • Working collaboratively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary colleagues to develop and deliver individualized care plans
  • Supporting patients through periods of acute mental ill health, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and recovery remain at the centre of care delivery
  • Working calmly and effectively in challenging situations
  • Making sound clinical decisions and responding positively to changing service demands while maintaining a compassionate and recovery-focused approach
  • Supporting Nursing Assistants, students, and newly qualified staff
  • Contributing to a positive learning and professional development culture within the ward team

About You

The post holder will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred, evidence-based care within the inpatient service. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse who is committed to providing safe, effective, and recovery-focused care to individuals with complex mental and physical health needs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Responsibility for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in partnership with patients, carers, and other professionals
  • Contribution to the development of personalised care plans, risk assessments, and interventions that promote recovery, wellbeing, and positive patient outcomes
  • Coordination and delivery of clinical care, ensuring high standards of nursing practice are maintained at all times
  • Support and guidance to Nursing Assistants, students, and less experienced staff
  • Acting as a positive role model and contributing to a culture of learning and continuous improvement

Working Conditions

This is a rewarding opportunity to work within a 24-hour inpatient service. The post holder will be required to work flexibly across a full shift pattern, including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the service and ensure the continued delivery of safe and effective patient care.
