Job Opportunity: Elderly Rehab Ward
We are looking for a vibrant and enthusiastic individual to join the team and complement our Elderly rehab ward.
About Ward 2
Ward 2 is an established Rehab ward situated in Blyth Community Hospital. The Unit consists of 26 in-patient beds. It provides evidence-based multi-disciplinary care for Elderly patients. This includes rapid diagnostic facilities, treatment, and a multi-disciplinary approach, including provision of comprehensive medical assessment.
Most patients are admitted from acute sites. The aim of the Unit is to help patients on their journey to recover to the point that they can either be transferred for ongoing care, return to their own home, or to further care in the community.
Requirements
We would like the post holder to be an excellent communicator, reliable, honest, and work to a high standard of care. Experience in Acute medicine is desirable but not necessary as full training and support will be given to the successful candidate. This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable clinical experience and knowledge within an emergency care setting and acute care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
