About the Role
We're looking for a Staff Nurse to join our Surgical Ward team at The Wellington Hospital South, currently rated "Good" by the CQC.

As a Staff Nurse within the Surgical Ward, you will be responsible for assessing patient care needs, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care whilst ensuring the highest standards of patient-centred nursing. Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will support patients throughout their surgical journey from admission through to discharge.
The role involves monitoring patient condition, managing post-operative care, administering medications, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and escalating concerns where appropriate. You will play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate, and effective care while contributing to an excellent patient experience.

What You'll Bring
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC registration.
- Previous experience in a surgical or acute ward setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Competency in key clinical skills including venepuncture and cannulation, NG tube insertion and care, female urinary catheter insertion and care, and stoma care.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
