Avalon Ward Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 RMN/RGN/RNLD to be part of our inpatient team on Avalon ward within the National Eating Disorders service. If you are a forward-thinking nurse looking to start or develop your experience in an eating disorder service this is an excellent opportunity to consider.
Role Overview
As a Registered Nurse you provide direct personal care to patients, without direct supervision, and coordinate the care given by colleagues.

We are passionate about nurse development and many of our band 5 staff go on to band 6 positions within the team. We offer bespoke eating disorder training including NG training. We actively encourage CPD and support nurses to advance their skills, becoming Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Practice Development Nurses and provide training opportunities in psychological therapy. We are a team enthusiastic about Quality Improvement, we work closely with the QII team to continually improve the care we provide. The successful applicant will be involved in evidence-based treatment and service development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Leading the delivery of comprehensive service user assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of person-centered care in a collaborative way.
- Co-ordinating a first-class service that includes assessment and monitoring of physical health, maintaining service users’ rights, supervising junior staff and students, working collaboratively with the Multi-Disciplinary Team and maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment and accurate records.
- Leading on and undertaking activities to ensure that the fundamentals of care are met - nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional and social support.
- Co-ordinating and evaluating collaborative patient-centered care; getting feedback and improving plans with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
- Providing accurate information about care in an accessible format to patients and their relatives / carers.
- Liaising and working positively with members of the multi-disciplinary team and partner organisations.
- Administering, and monitoring the side-effects of, medication; monitoring service user compliance.
