Role Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to develop your existing nursing skills and knowledge while gaining valuable experience caring for patients throughout their cancer pathway within a Rapid Diagnostic Assessment Centre. If you are passionate about making a real difference to patients' experiences, understand the anxieties associated with a cancer diagnosis, and are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care, we would love to hear from you.
About the Team
You will join a well-established, close-knit multidisciplinary team that prides itself on providing exceptional patient care in a supportive and inclusive environment. We are passionate about diversity and inclusion and value the unique experiences and perspectives that every team member brings. The unit works closely with the Outpatients Sisters and wider outpatient teams to ensure a seamless patient journey.
Role Details
- Service: Daytime service, not a 24-hour rota.
- Hours: 7.5-hour shifts, 3 days per week.
- Start Times: Between 8:00am and 11:00am, depending on service requirements.
- Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements considered where possible.

Responsibilities
- Exposure to a wide range of clinical activities, including assessment and management of patients attending for rapid diagnostic investigations and treatment.
- Support patients at various stages of their diagnostic and treatment journey.
- Undertake procedure assessments.
- Assist with a variety of diagnostic and minor surgical procedures.
Requirements
- Qualified Registered Nurse with experience working within an acute hospital setting.
- Flexible, organized, and a strong team player.
- Genuine commitment to patient-centred care.
- Competent in venepuncture.
- Sound surgical nursing skills relevant to a procedural and diagnostic environment.
