Band 6 Staff Nurse for Private Patient Medical Day Unit and Outpatient department
The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a centre of excellence for research, development, education, and care in the treatment of cancer.
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Staff Nurse for Private Patient Medical Day Unit and Outpatient department at the Royal Marsden in Cavendish Square.
This is offered as a one year fixed term basis. This role will not include night shifts or weekends.
You will need to be a 1st level registered nurse, Demonstrable previous Oncology experience and experience in the administration of IV medications and chemotherapy is essential. Intravenous cannulation and venepuncture are desirable, however full training will be given.
In addition, you will possess excellent communication skills, be reliable, enthusiastic and an effective team member committed to providing the highest level of service for our patients.

Responsibilities
The band 6 registered nurse for Cavendish Square is an exciting role, which enables the delivery of care across outpatient and medical day unit ambulatory care settings. The main roles and responsibilities include:

- To coordinate and supervise a shift, communicating effectively with members of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality, evidence-led care to patients.
- To have specific responsibility within Outpatient’s and MDU for those patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment. This includes the administration of systemic anti-cancer treatments (SACT).
- To exercise clinical judgment and decision making about patient needs in terms of long term goals or plans.
- To plan, document, deliver and evaluate evidence-based nursing care for patients in a responsible and efficient way.
