The Mildred Creak Unit is a children’s inpatient unit caring for young people aged 7 to 13 with a range of severe and complex mental health difficulties.
Our supportive team will allow you to develop your experience and knowledge of child and adolescent mental health. Working across disciplines to support our patient group with complex difficulties and supporting young people with activities of daily living, you will facilitate activities and therapeutic groups while using your expertise to create and deliver individualized care plans. With weekly team and monthly MDT education opportunities alongside a bespoke professional and academic development pathway which aligns with your goals, you will be part of a team which strives to provide young people with greater collaboration and empowerment in their treatment journey.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
