Location: Coalway Lane, Swalwell, Gateshead
Contract: Full-time, 24/7 service - includes nights and weekends
Registration: NMC (RMN or RNLD)
Time and a third (1.3x hourly rate) for hours worked after 8pm and on Saturdays
Time and three fifths (1.6x hourly rate) for Sundays and Bank Holidays
This role is not eligible for sponsorship as it does not meet the requirements as set out by the UK Visa and Immigration Service
About Coalway Lane
Coalway Lane is a 20-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation and Recovery service supporting adults with complex mental health needs to live well and independently in the community. Rated by the CQC, our service looks and feels like a home, not a hospital, with modern detached houses where every resident has their own front door key and bedroom.
We work with a strengths-based, least restrictive approach, helping people build confidence, daily living skills, and resilience for community life.
About The Job
As a Staff Nurse, you’ll manage a small caseload from admission to discharge, delivering person-centred recovery plans that make a real difference.

- Assess and manage mental health needs
- Support recovery-focused care planning
- Lead shifts and oversee medication management

About You
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are an NMC Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or RNLD
- Have mental health experience (we also welcome new graduates)
- Understand complex mental health needs and positive behaviour support
- Are a strong communicator and team player
- Are passionate about recovery, dignity and person-centred care
- Can work flexibly across days, nights and weekends as part of a rolling rota
