Asylum Health Community Team/Community Nursing Staff Nurse

Department: Inverclyde HSCP - Community Adult Nursing
Hours: 36 hours per week worked 5 over 7 days
Grade: Staff Nurse Band 5
Base: Inverclyde Community Adult Nursing
Role Of The Department
To provide a community nursing service to the housebound population of Inverclyde and New to Scotland Asylum Seekers and Refugees
The Job The Applicant Will Be Doing
To assist the Band 6 nurse in providing health screening and assessment to New to Scotland Refugees or Asylum Seekers within Inverclyde. They will work collaboratively with all team members to provide effective and holistic nursing care to a designated caseload within asylum health and community nursing.

Work collaboratively in both a planned and responsive manner to ensure nursing skill and expertise is afforded to residents of Inverclyde HSCP
There will be a requirement to link & liaise effectively with GP and OOH medical colleagues via NHS 24, Scottish Ambulance Service and provide guidance and support to unregistered staff supplying care & support services to HSCP service users
Skills / Qualifications
- A 1st level registered nurse with significant post-registration experience is essential.
- Community experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- As part of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s pre-employment checking for all appointed candidates, evidence of current NMC registration will be required before the start date. You should therefore note that candidates who are unable to provide confirmation of current NMC registration, in line with the projected start date for this post, may not be shortlised for interview.
- This post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.
- Full driving licence/car owner essential
