Job Overview
We are looking for two highly motivated, enthusiastic, and compassionate Staff Nurses to join our friendly and dynamic team on Ward 3 Gastroenterology at Wexham Park Hospital.
Ward 3 is a 24-bedded medical ward caring for male and female patients with a range of acute medical conditions, specializing in gastroenterology and general medicine. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical knowledge and skills within a supportive and specialist environment.
You will work as part of a respected multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality, safe, and compassionate care to our patients. We are committed to supporting your professional development and will provide opportunities, encouragement, and guidance to help you achieve your full potential.

This role is open to newly qualified nurses graduating in September 2026.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision.
- To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy.
- Responsible for the assessment of complex care needs of patients and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care.
- Lead and monitor the performance and standards of care within the Nursing Team.
- Work collaboratively with the other members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate the development of the service.

- Recent clinical experience in a medical ward

- Experience of managing patients with gastroenterology disease

- Able to work flexible shifts, weekends, and bank holidays as required
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Competent in basic life support and IV administration
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult / stressful situations
- Able to train and supervise junior staff
- Able to manage a team in the absence of the team leader
Desirable criteria
- Epic trained
