Job Overview
You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Adult) with a real passion for delivering high quality clinical care. You will be self-motivated, flexible, and work well within a team but be able to work autonomously. You do not need to have prison experience as we will provide you with a full induction and training.
Work within the Primary Care Team is varied and includes triaging, emergency care and treatment, health promotion, end of life/palliative care, effective care planning, and liaising with the multidisciplinary team. It’s this variety that keeps things interesting and stimulating. Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences, but you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible from both the healthcare team and the prison team.
HMP Woodhill is a Category A/B prison accommodating approximately 600 adult male prisoners.
By joining our Prisons Health Care Team, you will not only look after the healthcare needs of our patients residing in secure environments but also have the opportunity to have a real impact on promoting health and well-being. Our healthcare services work to a 7-day week working model, to ensure our patient's healthcare is managed and maintained to the highest of standards at all times.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
