An Exciting Opportunity for a Band 5 Registered Nurse in Imaging

An exciting opportunity has become available for a proactive and dynamic Band 5 Registered Nurse to work within our Imaging department. There is rotation for the imaging nurse through the Interventional Radiology Suites, CT, Ultrasound, and Radiology Daycase Unit at our Royal Stoke site. There is also a requirement to cover services at County.

Within the Imaging Department, we are increasingly striving to improve patient pathways by increasing day-case procedures, and we are very proud of our Radiology Daycase Unit.

There is an expectation for the successful candidate to provide a nurse-led service performing venepuncture, cannulation, and assist the radiologist with imaging-guided procedures. The successful candidate will work closely to provide a holistic approach for patients by working closely with other allied health professionals such as Radiologists, radiographers, and nursing assistants.

We are keen to recruit an individual with a caring and compassionate personality, as excellent and safe patient care is our number one priority.

This post may suit a newly qualified Band 5 nurse interested in joining a dynamic team. Visits to our department are encouraged to give the candidate more details of the role and to give more insight into the procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
