Main Duties of the Job
We offer full and part time hours and support flexible working and will consider requests taking into account the needs of the services.
In This Key Role, You Will

To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:
- The assessment of care and health education needs
- The development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient

To gain experience and skills in:
- Clinical practice
- Facilitation and teaching
- Management (as appropriate)

To work in accordance with the RUH Nursing Strategy and contribute towards achieving its objectives and maintain effective communication and participate in clinical supervision as appropriate and to teach and act as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor/ role model to less experienced staff.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- A final-year student nurse due to qualify in 2026 working towards professional registration via nursing degree (3rd year)
- Be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) upon qualification
- Completion of a nursing degree in 2026 or due to qualify
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Up to date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse.
- Demonstrates reflective practice
- Demonstrate an understanding of the NMC Code and professional nursing responsibilities
- Show a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care
Desirable criteria
- Experience gained through placement areas relevant to preferred areas of working
- Relevant clinical placement experience
