Staff Nurse – Oncology/Haematology

Location: London, Private Care at Guy’s (London Bridge Hospital) ** shift:** Full-time – 37.5 hours per week Salary: Competitive + Excellent benefits

About the Role

We are recruiting a motivated Staff Nurse to join our renowned Cancer Nursing Team at Private Care at Guy’s, a state-of-the-art private cancer centre rated Outstanding by the CQC.

This is a unique opportunity to build a specialist career in haematology and oncology, backed by:

Private Care at Guy’s is a leader in private cancer care, featuring: ✅ Cutting-edge operating theatres ✅ Modern chemotherapy and radiotherapy units ✅ Specialist oncology and surgical wards ✅ A four-bed intensive care unit for highly complex cases

We offer advanced immunotherapy treatments, including:

  • Bispecific cancer therapies
  • Tumour-Infiltrating Lymphocyte (TIL) therapy

Additionally, nurses have the chance to work with:

  • Robotic cancer surgery
  • JACIE-accredited stem cell transplant services (for blood cancer patients)

This innovative setting enables nurses to continuously develop while directly impacting patient outcomes.

As a Staff Nurse on our 20-bedded Oncology/Haematology Inpatient Ward (including two dedicated stem cell transplant rooms), you will:

  • Support patients through every stage of their cancer journey
  • Manage acute and palliative care for adults with diverse haematology and oncology needs
  • Work in an environment at the forefront of modern cancer treatment and care

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, patient-centred care to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and transplant patients
  • Administer Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT)
  • Support diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in both wards and specialist units
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver highly complex patient pathways
  • Participate in training, mentoring, and professional development opportunities
  • Follow strict nursing standards, infection control, and safety protocols

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Current NMC registration

Desirable (but not essential—full training provided)

  • Previous experience in haematology/oncology or acute medicine settings (minimum 2 years in acute care)
  • Knowledge of SACT administration (training provided if needed)
  • Experience in either NHS or private hospital environments

Essential qualifications

  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to learn within a specialist setting
