Staff Nurse – Pre-Assessment
Plymouth Hospital | Pre-Assessment | Permanent | Part time
Up to £34,000 per annum (pro rata), depending on skills and experience
30 hours per week

About the Role
As a Staff Nurse in our hospital, you’ll be attentive, focused, detail-oriented, and empathetic. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body, and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. With post-registration experience, you’re a team player with a passion for exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
As a Pre-Assessment Staff Nurse, you will:
- Be part of a close-knit team delivering matron-led care in a consultant-led service
- As the first point of contact, work with leading talent and professionals to make the right assessments for patients prior to their surgery
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge base and assessment skills to ensure patient care
- Fully understand and support the needs of each patient and their family
- Offer comfort and reassurance, providing the highest standards of care
- Build your experience across new practices, equipment, and facilities
- Work with practitioners in other areas, understanding that continuity in patient care is key

About Us
Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital
The Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital is situated next to the Nuffield Health Devonshire Gym, in Derriford, Plymouth, and we have been part of the Plymouth community since 1971. We have 3 main theatres – 2 laminar flow and 1 digital, a fully JAG accredited endoscopy suite, a 35-bedded ward with one 4-bedded bay and one 2-bedded bay. Our outpatients department has 12 consulting rooms with a dedicated ophthalmology suite and ENT service.
