Job Description:
Staff Nurse - Radiology Staff Nurse
Cromwell Hospital, SW5 0TU
Salary: £37,080 to £46,890 a year + Fantastic Benefits
Full time - 37.5 hours a week
Our department is open 8am to 8pm (Monday to Friday)
Any Saturday work will be from 8am to 2pm

Role Overview
The radiology department at Cromwell hospital has opened its doors in December 2025 with a fully refreshed suite of facilities in the new diagnostic wing of the hospital: Lexham gardens.
Lexham gardens comprises three floors of ultrasound facilities, x-ray, a fluoroscopy suite, DEXA and women’s health unit. The radiology department is well known for being a dynamic service accommodating requests to provide a rapid access and flexible imaging service for our stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for
As a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN Number, you will have experience within an Outpatient or Radiology departments and be a caring and compassionate professional.
Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care and Patient Safety
- Provide safe, evidence based nursing care within the ultrasound clinic
- Assist radiologists during ultrasound /Xray/Ct guided procedures, e.g. biopsies, FNA, drain insertions,Picc line insertion
- Assisting radiologist during ultrasound clinics ( general, gynae, head&neck, breast, Msk, etc)
- Perform patient observations pre and post procedure as required
- Recognise and escalate clinical deterioration promptly
- Ensure completion of WHO safety checklist where applicable
- Maintain infection prevention and control standards

Equipment and Environment
- Prepare ultrasound rooms prior to clinic start
- Ensure availability of sterile equipment and consumables
- Check emergency equipment is present and accessible
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe clinical environment
- Report equipment faults to senior staff
Team Support
- Work collaboratively with radiologists, sonographers and administrative staff
- Follow direction of the nurse in charge for the shift
- Escalate concerns to senior nurse or manager on duty
Documentation and Governance
- Complete accurate nursing documentation in line with local policy
- Adhere to organisational policies and professional standards
- Report incidents via local reporting systems as required
