Job Overview
Are you a motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse looking for a dynamic and rewarding role? Join our Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU), where no two days are the same and you'll have the opportunity to care for patients across a wide range of surgical specialties.
Our busy 16-bedded unit provides rapid assessment, treatment, and ongoing care for patients requiring acute surgical intervention. We care for patients across General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Maxillofacial, and Orthopaedic specialties, offering an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of clinical skills and experience.
Alongside the ward, we operate a Surgical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) service, enabling patients to receive timely assessment, investigation, and treatment without the need for an overnight stay whenever appropriate. This fast-paced environment requires strong clinical skills, excellent teamwork, and a commitment to delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
As part of our dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality care, supporting patients through often complex and challenging circumstances. You'll work closely with surgical teams and allied health professionals to ensure patients receive safe, effective, and compassionate care throughout their journey.
Our unit offers an exciting opportunity for nurses who thrive in a busy setting, enjoy variety in their work, and are passionate about providing the highest standards of care.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
