About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Kettering Dialysis Unit. We are a busy outpatient haemodialysis unit caring for 135 patients per week. If you are looking for an opportunity to join an expert team, with supportive leadership, learning and development opportunities please read on.
Previous experience in Renal/ Haemodialysis is desirable but not essential, as full in-house training and support will be given. The team you will be joining is dedicated to the training of both staff and patients providing excellent education opportunities and a shared-care ethos. There is a supportive leadership presence within the unit to help enable this.
The haemodialysis unit has an internal rotation operating on a shift pattern which includes:
- Early (7am - 3pm/7am-6pm)
- Mid (11am - 7pm)
- Late (3pm-11pm/12pm-11pm)
- Nocturnal (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9pm - 8am)
The unit is closed on Sundays, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients.
- Assisting and contributing in the management and organisation of a Haemodialysis unit/clinical area.
- Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.
- Actively participate in the education, development, and supervision of other staff members.
- Act as a clinical role model assessing and supporting students and learners on placement.
- Work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
- Involve patients and carers/relatives in the planning and delivery of care.
- Recognise, prioritise, and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.
