RecruitNet International Ltd is currently recruiting Staff Nurses - Medical Oncology Inpatient Unit for a leading hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

We are seeking experienced and motivated nurses who are looking to develop their careers within a leading hospital environment.

Our client is seeking Staff Nurses with a minimum of three years’ experience in Medical Oncology Inpatient nursing. Candidates should have relevant oncology nursing experience, sound knowledge of cancer care and treatment, and the ability to recognise and manage treatment related complications while providing safe and patient centred care.

Applications are welcomed from suitably qualified candidates based in Ireland, UK, Europe, Middle East, and South Africa.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring their individual needs are assessed and addressed.
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, take patient histories, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and report patients’ physical, psychological, and behavioural changes, escalating concerns promptly to the appropriate medical and nursing staff.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, carry out physician orders, and perform clinical procedures in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
  • Manage patient admission, discharge, and transfer procedures while supporting patients and their families throughout the care journey.
  • Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, including aseptic techniques, isolation procedures, and safe clinical practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, professional, and confidential patient documentation while ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection requirements.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, multidisciplinary teams, and nursing management, including appropriate delegation and complaint management.
  • Support the professional development of colleagues and students by participating in clinical induction, supervision, preceptorship, teaching, and ongoing education.
  • Maintain professional competence and accountability by adhering to the NMBI Scope of Practice, hospital policies, risk management procedures, performance reviews, and continuing professional development requirements.

  • Hold a current NMBI Registered General Nurse licence in good standing.
  • Have at least 3 years of post-registration nursing experience; previous experience in an oncology setting is desirable.
  • Demonstrate recent and relevant clinical experience in an acute hospital and specialised care environment.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration skills, with a motivated, innovative, and positive approach to work.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrate effective planning, organisation, prioritisation, and time-management skills, with flexibility to participate in internal rotations, night duty, rostering, and on-call requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments within the specialised area, nursing practice, and relevant national strategies, while actively engaging in continuous professional development.
