About this Role

We are seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for an AI-native Internal Developer Platform. This role focuses on enabling engineering and product teams to build, deploy, and operate software safely and efficiently at scale.

The individual will lead the delivery of self-service platform capabilities and AI-assisted engineering workflows, helping to reduce complexity, embed governance by design, and enhance reliability, developer experience, and delivery performance across teams.

What you’ll do

  • Contribute to and evolve the technical roadmap for the Internal Developer Platform, treating it as a product with clear adoption and performance outcomes.
  • Design and implement self-service capabilities, reusable golden paths, and standardised service templates for efficient software delivery.
  • Provide technical direction across platform domains including compute, Kubernetes, networking, secrets management, observability, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • Enable AI-assisted engineering workflows to enhance productivity, automate routine activities, and improve decision-making.
  • Embed governance, security, and compliance controls through policy-as-code and auditable platform practices.
  • Improve platform reliability through SLOs, observability frameworks, resilience engineering, and incident-driven improvements.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and architecture teams to translate business needs into scalable platform solutions.
  • Promote engineering excellence through automation, standardisation, and efficiency-driven practices, including FinOps awareness.
  • Mentor engineers, review technical designs, and support continuous improvement through documentation and knowledge sharing.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
