Dex

Dex is an AI recruiter agent that helps you run your job search. Tell Dex your stack, seniority, and what you want to build. We will manage your applications and surface other opportunities that are a fit.

The role

AI agents need to learn. This lab builds the interactive, resettable digital environments where they do it: navigating software, completing tasks, learning from failure, and improving through trial and error. This isn't just research; it's about generating the experiential data that trains increasingly capable AI systems. They've raised significant funding and work directly with frontier AI labs, growing rapidly with a team from leading tech companies and successful startups.

This is a Staff or Principal Software Engineer role, offering genuine technical authority without disconnecting you from the code. You'll own major platform areas, from technical direction to production delivery, designing scalable systems for AI simulation, data generation, and agent workflows. This isn't a ticket-crunching role; it's about leading architecture across distributed systems and data-intensive infrastructure, turning ambiguous problems into clear plans, and guiding other engineers. You'll stay deeply hands-on, helping the team make better decisions and improving engineering practices as the organisation scales.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • You have extensive experience building and operating complex production systems, with a strong background in architecture and system design.
  • You've led large, ambiguous engineering initiatives, designing distributed systems, data platforms, or complex technical workflows.
