Why supply tech at Heidi?
Heidi is the ski holiday specialist. Customers search, compare and book ski holidays across Europe's mountains: accommodation, flights, transfers, lift passes, equipment hire and lessons, packaged into one trip.
Supply tech is the flywheel of the business. Better supply means better value for customers and a healthier bottom line, and investment in good engineering here means better outcomes for our customers. Over the years we've built deep integrations with accommodation, flight and transfer suppliers across the Alps, including markets like Austria that are notoriously hard to break into.
Our supply team is growing, and we're looking for a staff/principal level engineer to define what excellent looks like in our technology and ways of working, leading by example.
The impact you'll have
You'll be the most senior engineer in our Supply Tech team (mission: better value through smart supply), working alongside a PM, a senior engineer and mid-level engineers. This is a hands-on role: you'll write code, own the architecture and set the technical bar, not manage from a distance.
Your responsibilities include:
- Owning the technical direction of our supply platform: the aggregator API, supplier integrations and our search platform.
- Leading the upgrade of our search platform from proof of concept to the engine behind all of our search, with a relentless focus on performance, price accuracy and quality.
- Defining the measurable outcomes that show our impact: search speed, price accuracy, supplier coverage, conversion and margin.
- Coaching the engineers around you, raising the bar through pairing, reviews and clear technical decisions.
- Championing practical AI adoption in how we build, debug and operate our systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
Deep backend experience at staff or principal level, ideally in .NET or a similar typed language, designing systems that run reliably at scale.
A track record with high-volume data: pipelines, caching, search or pricing systems where performance and correctness both matter.
Experience designing APIs that external developers love to use. B2B or platform API experience is a strong plus.
Travel tech experience (OTAs, bedbanks, GDS, channel managers, dynamic packaging) is a big bonus, but not essential if you learn fast.
Hands-on with AI tooling in your own delivery, and enthusiastic about using it to change how teams build software.
A coach and facilitator: you pair with engineers, lead technical discussions and help a lean team make good architectural calls.
Pragmatic and outcome-driven. You connect technical decisions to business results and prefer the simple solution that ships.
Our engineering principles:
- Learn fast: deliver incrementally and move quickly rather than holding fixed views.
- Keep it simple: simple, proven technology over fads and trends.
- Outcomes over output: work that moves the business, not tech for tech's sake.
