Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Unit 1
Full-Time, Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Hours Per Week

Summary of Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Unit 1, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients and families across the healthcare continuum. This includes:
- Primary accountability for nursing practice in alignment with Ohio Board of Nursing standards
- Delegation of tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAPs) in compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act
- Collaborative and multidisciplinary care for patients, addressing their physical, emotional, and practical needs
Key components of this role:
- 36 hours/week, Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) (Eligible for weekend and shift differential)
- High-Reliability Organization (HRO) focus on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Multi-faceted care online with emphasis on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Patient Assessment & Nursing Care
( Approximately 80% of Role )
- Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments, tailored to individual patient and population needs (30%)
- Utilize evidence-based practice to identify patient clinical concerns

Outcomes Identification & Planning
- Develop and document patient-centered nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems
- Set patient care goals and create a care plan that addresses individual needs (30%)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, social workers, therapists)

Implementation & Evaluation
- Execute and monitor nursing interventions at appropriate intervals
- Evaluate patient responses and care outcomes, adjusting nursing strategy as required (20%)
- Use feedback to optimize care delivery while maintaining patient safety
Leadership & Process Improvement
( 10% of Role )
- Actively engage in clinical quality improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction measures, and operational efficiency projects
- Contribute data-driven insights to enhance patient outcomes and reduce medical waste
Operational Excellence
( 10% of Role )

Minimum Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Currently holds an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Ohio
- Possesses a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be current on implementation)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within five (5) years of deployment
Experience
- Prior acute care nursing experience preferred but not required for initial hire
Compensation & Work Details
- Schedule: Day shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Monday-Saturday, 36 hrs/week)
- Location: OHIOHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER, MEDICAL UNIT 1
- Shift Differential & Weekend Pay Eligible
