About Reap

Reap is a global financial technology company headquartered in Hong Kong with employees across multiple countries. We enable financial connectivity and access for businesses worldwide by combining traditional finance with stablecoins for efficient money movement.

Through our stablecoin-powered corporate cards, payments, and expense management tools, we streamline financial operations and help businesses scale. Our APIs enable businesses to integrate stablecoin-enabled finance into their own products and services—from issuing Visa cards to facilitating cross-border payments.

Backed by leading investors including Acorn Pacific, Index Ventures and HashKey Capital, Reap is building the future of borderless, stablecoin-enabled finance.

About the Role

We're looking for a Staff/Senior Engineer to make Agentic Payments real at Reap. AI agents are starting to hold payment credentials and execute purchases autonomously, and the rails for that cut across every part of our platform. Your job is to go where that work lives.

This is a roving, embedded role. You won't own one service in one corner of the codebase. You'll drop into whichever team needs to ship an agentic capability, work alongside their engineers, and build the piece that makes the agentic flow work end-to-end. Then you move to the next one.

The hard skill here is adaptability: getting productive fast in a system you didn't write, earning the trust of the team you've joined, and shipping with them rather than around them.

What You’ll Do

  • Embed with engineering teams across Reap to build and integrate agentic payment capabilities into their systems.
  • Own agentic features end-to-end across team boundaries: design the flow, build it where it needs to live, and operate it in production.
  • Build backend services in Node.js / TypeScript (NestJS or Elysia) for high-performance APIs and async jobs.
  • Work with AWS cloud-native services (Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, Aurora, S3, CloudWatch) for scalable, resilient architectures.
  • Turn the agentic payments roadmap into shipped infrastructure — the rails that let agents transact safely, with the right controls and verification.
  • Collaborate directly with product, founders, and the host team's engineers.
  • Leverage AI tools and modern development practices to move fast across multiple systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5-8+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
  • A track record of dropping into unfamiliar codebases and shipping quickly — contract work, platform/infra roles, or being the person teams pull in when something needs to cross system boundaries.
  • Deep expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, including RESTful API design and async job patterns.
  • Strong product sense — ability to take a capability from idea to production without a detailed spec handed to you.
  • Proven hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, SQS, Aurora, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, etc.).
  • Strong SQL fundamentals and experience with relational databases.
  • Familiarity with event-driven and serverless architectures.
  • Low ego and high adaptability — you build with the teams you join, not around them.
  • Clear communication and the ability to work autonomously in a fully remote, async team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with payments, card issuing, or fintech infrastructure.
  • Exposure to agentic AI, AI agents, or autonomous systems that act on a user's behalf.
  • Curiosity about Web3, stablecoins, or the Web2 ↔ Web3 intersection.
  • Startup experience where you've worn multiple hats and crossed team lines.
