About the Role
Wayve’s engineering teams are building the AI, robotics, simulation, data, and systems foundations needed to deploy a generalisable AI Driver safely and at scale.
About AI Validation
The AI Validation team develops the strategies, evidence, metrics, and test systems that build confidence in the Wayve AI Driver. Both locations translate ambiguous product and safety questions into validation plans, scenarios, metrics, coverage, acceptance criteria, and evidence for release decisions—but the product scope and candidate profile differ by location.
This role focuses primarily on ADAS and L2 autonomy functions. It works closely with automotive and OEM expectations, including product, customer, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role can be hired as a TC4 individual contributor or an M4 manager with responsibility for technical direction and team delivery.
Your day-to-day
- Translate product, systems, and safety requirements into validation strategies, test scenarios, metrics, coverage requirements, and acceptance criteria.
- Work hands-on with Python, evaluation pipelines, test implementation, simulation, and data analysis.
- Analyse results and communicate findings, risks, and evidence to Product, Safety, Release, and Autonomy Engineering stakeholders.
- Coordinate data, simulation, and evaluation dependencies so validation can run reliably and at scale.
- Develop comprehensive verification strategies for ADAS and L2 autonomy functions.
- Translate customer, OEM, safety, and regulatory expectations into practical validation evidence.
- Build test suites spanning simulation and physical testing environments.
- At M4, provide people leadership and coordinate validation delivery across the team; at TC4, provide senior technical ownership as an individual contributor.
What you’ll be working on
- ADAS functions such as lane keeping and other assisted-driving capabilities.
- Validation strategies aligned with automotive OEM development, customer expectations, SOTIF, and emerging AV-industry standards.
- Simulated and physical test environments, comprehensive coverage, and evidence-based release decisions.
- Python-based evaluation tooling, SQL and scalable data analysis, behavioural metrics, test coverage, and automated validation execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You should apply if
- You understand how automotive companies and OEMs develop and validate ADAS or L2 autonomy products.
- You can translate customer, safety, regulatory, and product expectations into structured validation strategies.
- You have hands-on experience building scenarios, metrics, test suites, evaluation pipelines, or data-analysis workflows.
- You can use Python professionally and are comfortable with SQL or similar large-scale analysis tools.
- You have validated complex systems in simulation, the real world, or both.
- You communicate clearly, document decisions well, and can own ambiguous problems from concept through evidence and recommendation.
- ML, computer vision, motion planning, SOTIF, safety validation, or modern AI-tooling experience is advantageous.
- For the M4 scope, you have experience leading people or coordinating a validation function; for TC4, you bring strong senior individual-contributor ownership.
Not ticking every box? That’s totally okay! If you’re passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every requirement.
