Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in London for a Stainless-Steel Fabricator & Coded Welder. The role involves fabricating stainless-steel pipework and structures, reading and interpreting technical drawings, and preparing materials for welding and assembly. The person in this position will perform coded welding to required standards, carry out cutting, grinding, and finishing operations, and ensure all work meets quality, safety, and compliance requirements. Day-to-day tasks include measuring and marking out components, operating workshop equipment and tools, fitting and assembling pipework and support systems, and assisting with on-site installations as required. The role also includes maintaining a clean, safe working environment, collaborating with engineering and project teams, and completing documentation related to inspections and work completed.

Qualifications

  • Strong metalworking skills, including stainless-steel fabrication, cutting, and forming.
  • Proficiency in working with hand tools such as measuring instruments, files, wrenches, and cutting tools.
  • Experience with grinding operations, including surface preparation, finishing, and safe use of grinders.
  • Confidence using power tools and workshop machinery relevant to fabrication and welding.
  • Basic forklift operation skills or willingness to obtain relevant certification for materials handling.
  • Recognized coded welding qualifications (e.g., TIG/MIG on stainless steel) and experience with 316 stainless-steel pipework are highly beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and isometrics, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound understanding of health and safety practices, including PPE use, safe lifting, and working with hot work permits.
  • Previous experience in industrial, food, or process-industry environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred for site work).
