Role Description

The Stainless Steel Fabricator role is a full-time, on-site position based in King’s Lynn. The role involves fabricating and assembling stainless steel components, including tanks, frames, brackets, pipework, and conveyor parts for food production environments. Day-to-day tasks include:

The fabricator will assist with on-site installation, modification, and repair of process pipework and production lines, including occasional shutdown and emergency maintenance support. The role also includes:

  • Reading technical drawings
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Collaborating with the engineering team
  • Following health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Qualifications

  • Strong metalworking skills, including stainless steel fabrication, cutting, forming, and assembly.
  • Proficiency with hand tools such as measuring instruments, clamps, files, and basic fabrication tools.
  • Experience using grinding equipment and surface finishing tools for clean, precise welds and fabrications.
  • Competence with power tools, including drills, saws, and related fabrication machinery.
  • Ability to safely operate a forklift or similar material-handling equipment (valid certification preferred).
  • Practical TIG welding experience, ideally within food-grade or hygienic pipework environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and fabrication plans.
  • Strong awareness of health, safety, and hygiene standards in fast-paced production settings.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in food processing, manufacturing, or industrial fabrication is an advantage.
