Role Description

The Stairlift Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bristol Area, United Kingdom. This role involves installing new stairlifts, performing routine maintenance, and diagnosing and repairing faults to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. The engineer will carry out site surveys, liaise with customers to explain work being undertaken, and provide basic user guidance following installation. Daily tasks include testing and commissioning stairlifts, completing service documentation, maintaining tools and company equipment, and adhering to safety and regulatory standards. The role may require travel within the region, occasional out-of-hours callouts, and close collaboration with the customer service and sales teams.

  • Technical and mechanical skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing stairlifts or similar electromechanical equipment.
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including safe working practices and the ability to read technical drawings or wiring diagrams.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic abilities to identify faults and implement effective repairs.
  • Customer service skills, including clear communication, professionalism on-site, and respectful interaction with diverse users.
  • Ability to work safely in domestic environments, follow health and safety guidelines, and manage manual handling tasks.
  • Full, valid UK driving license and willingness to travel within the Greater Bristol Area and surrounding regions.
  • Previous experience in stairlift installation, mobility equipment, or a related engineering field is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical, electrical, or maintenance engineering is an advantage.
