Join Ofwat’s Communications and Engagement team as a Stakeholder Engagement and Events Associate

We have 1 Fixed Term contract available until the end of December 2027.

Office Location: London (E14 4HD) or Birmingham (B5 4UA) with hybrid working

About Us

We’re Ofwat, the Water Services Regulation Authority – a non-ministerial government department responsible for regulating the water sector in England and Wales.

As the economic regulator of water and wastewater companies in England and Wales, our role is to enable, incentivise and hold companies to account for providing the very best for customers, communities and the environment. We also oversee the markets in the water sector to ensure they’re working for customers. Following the Independent Water Commission’s Final Report and subsequent White Paper - 'New Vision for Water', the UK government has set out a bold new direction - one that brings together expertise from across the sector to deliver better outcomes for customers and the environment.

The Role

We're looking for a Stakeholder Engagement and Events Associate to join our team at a crucial time for the water sector.

In this role you'll work closely with colleagues across Ofwat, including senior leaders, to support the delivery of external engagement, communications and events with our stakeholders, including consumer organisations, environmental groups, water companies, investors, and more.

This will include coordinating the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications team's systems and processes to ensure we're managing our work effectively – including managing our inboxes, speaker requests, activity trackers and databases. You'll also take a hands-on role in delivering engagement and events, attending and supporting engagement events, exhibitions and conferences.

You will work in cross-functional project teams on priority communications projects and over time will be given the opportunity to develop in the role and take on stretch responsibilities to design and manage defined engagement and events activities, with support from senior colleagues.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
