The Opportunity
As the UK continues to invest in its energy infrastructure, effective stakeholder engagement has never been more important. As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager at OCU, you'll play a key role in building positive relationships with communities, local authorities, landowners, businesses, and other stakeholders across major infrastructure projects.
Working within a large-scale power framework, you'll help ensure projects are delivered with transparency, collaboration, and clear communication. This is an opportunity to influence projects from the earliest stages through to delivery, helping to create positive outcomes for both our clients and the communities we work within.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver stakeholder engagement strategies aligned to DNO and project requirements
- Lead engagement with local authorities, communities, landowners, businesses, and affected stakeholders
- Coordinate the creation of public-facing communications including letters, factsheets, and information packs
- Organise and support consultation activity such as public exhibitions, letter drops, and engagement events
- Manage third-party stakeholder engagement consultants, ensuring quality and consistency of delivery
- Work closely with consents, pre-construction, and delivery teams to ensure aligned messaging and planning
- Collaborate with DNO stakeholder teams to support wider engagement strategies
- Track, manage, and resolve stakeholder queries, feedback, and concerns in a timely and professional manner

Essential
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, community relations, communications, public affairs, or a related discipline.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex or technical information clearly and effectively.
- Experience managing stakeholder concerns and delivering successful engagement outcomes.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills.
- Strong written communication and presentation skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience within utilities, infrastructure, energy, construction, or regulated environments.
- Bonus if you have experience working with local authorities, landowners, and community groups on infrastructure projects.
- It would be great if you've coordinated consultation events, public exhibitions, or community engagement programmes.
- It would be great if you have experience managing third-party consultants or external service providers.
- Knowledge of planning, consenting, or infrastructure development processes would be advantageous.
