THIS POSITION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR REMOTE WORK ON A FULL-TIME BASIS WITHIN ARIZONA, BUT ON OCCASION MAY BE REQUIRED TO MEET DIRECTLY WITH OTHERS IN THE OFFICE (ALL WORK, INCLUDING REMOTE WORK, MUST BE PERFORMED WITHIN ARIZONA)

Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), State Procurement Office (SPO), is seeking a strategic and analytical Statewide Compliance Analyst to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will empower state procurement operations by providing comprehensive support for the statewide procurement compliance program, coordinating communications and outreach to partner agencies with delegated procurement authority, and serving as a key contributor to SPO’s corrective action plan process. A primary focus of this position involves leveraging data analytics and innovative technology solutions to streamline and simplify the compliance reporting process. Additionally, you will play a direct role in shaping policy standards by contributing to the development of statewide Technical Bulletins and Standard Procedures that drive efficiency and transparency across state government.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for various aspects of the statewide procurement compliance program. Responsibilities include support of the procurement compliance review process, especially developing and following up on corrective actions plans for both internal (State Procurement Office) and external (Agencies with Delegated Authority) compliance.
  • Responsible for processing new and renewal of Delegations of Procurement Authority and completing training audits.
  • Responsible for the procurement compliance reporting process. This includes leveraging available tools (including information technology and artificial intelligence tools) and knowledge (such as data analysis) to streamline and simplify the reporting process.
  • Helps update and maintain the SPO Compliance web page, including procurement forms, documents, and Technical Bulletins and Standard Procedures that govern statewide procurement process.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

  • Public administration and government.
  • AI automation frameworks and scripting.
  • Personal computers and various software applications for reporting and data collection, including the use of artificial intelligence.
  • Procurement compliance practices.
  • Methods of conducting research.
  • General accounting practices as they relate to contracts and vendors.

Skills in:

  • Verbal and written communication.
  • Relationship management and time management.
  • Research and analysis, business and technical writing.
  • Data analysis from varied sources.

Ability to:

  • Learn and become an expert on software applications for reporting and data collection.
  • Identify manual reporting bottlenecks and apply AI solutions to streamline workflows.
  • Learn quickly and assimilate large quantities of government programmatic, industry specific and technical materials.
  • Influence peers and agency relationships.
  • Adjust to changing priorities, make sound and ethical business decisions.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple concurrent situations.
  • Determine potential risks to determine appropriate mitigation.

Selective Preference(s):

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Public Administration, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or other closely related field.
  • Certifications related to data analytics may also be valued in this role.
