Static Mechanical Engineer
Our client is a North Sea operator currently recruiting for the staff position of Static Mechanical Engineer based in Aberdeen.
You will act as the focal point for static mechanical engineering support across the BKR assets, helping to safeguard asset integrity, manage risk and ensure equipment performs reliably throughout its lifecycle. Drawing on the requirements set out in this role supports day-to-day operations while providing specialist technical guidance to the wider asset team.
You will play a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, resolving complex mechanical challenges and supporting effective maintenance and inspection strategies. Working closely with onshore and offshore teams, you will help drive operational performance while ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance are maintained.
Communication is central to success in this role. You will build strong relationships across operations, maintenance and specialist service providers, ensuring that risks, priorities and technical decisions are clearly understood and acted upon.

What we are looking for in potential candidates:
Leadership & Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and coordination of maintenance and integrity activities within your discipline.
- Provide specialist input into asset integrity, process safety and management of change processes.
- Support offshore teams with complex maintenance, repair and equipment-related challenges.
- Manage and influence vendor performance to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality and cost-effective services.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders to improve asset reliability, performance and operational readiness.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong experience in static mechanical engineering within the oil and gas sector.
- Proven track record supporting asset integrity, maintenance and repair activities.
- Good understanding of process safety, risk management and engineering assurance principles.
- Experience working closely with offshore operations and multidisciplinary asset teams.
- Ability to manage external contractors, budgets and technical service providers effectively.
