Station Manager Vacancies

Pay: £52,040 Development, £57,402 Competent B

Hours of Work: 42 hour rota (potential for flexible duty rota)

Shropshire Fire & Rescue Service is a Combined Fire Authority made up from members of Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council and delivers a service to over 480,000 residents. This population is spread over 1,346 square miles, with the busy towns of Shrewsbury and Telford at its centre. This sparsity, combined with the challenges of two growing vibrant towns, creates a challenging and interesting risk profile.

We are seeking dynamic, adaptable, and resilient individuals to join our Service permanently in various Station Manager Roles.

About The Role

You will provide operational leadership across the Service, supporting the effective delivery of services, the management of risk, and the achievement of organisational priorities. The role involves leading and developing teams, managing resources and performance, supporting operational effectiveness, and contributing to continuous improvement. Working closely with senior managers, colleagues, partners and key stakeholders, you will help shape and deliver service plans, promote high standards of professionalism and accountability, and ensure the Service is well placed to respond to current and emerging community risks.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
