Statutory Inspection Technician – Team Lead

Through our specialist divisions - topside, marine, subsea, cables, logistics and industrials, we are a pivotal link in the global offshore energy project chain, ensuring our customers’ projects are delivered safely, reliably and efficiently. We are currently seeking a Statutory Inspection Technician – Team Lead to join our Topside Division.

Shift pattern 2 days on 2 days off
Core Purpose
Responsible for safe implementation of OEG Renewables policies and procedures at site/shift level on various offshore wind projects. Taking a leading role in, mobilising, execution, and demobilising of statutory inspection work scopes on the Siemens DD 6.0 model WTG. Maintaining team performance in line with industry, client, project, and company requirements. Motion Kinetic Software to monitor and track company and customer assets deployed on project. Being responsible for small teams. The role requires the team leader to assist in the implementation of company and project policies and procedures acting as the client liaison taking part in briefing/debriefings on daily offshore progress and planning. Role is primarily based offshore or living on shore with daily transit offshore.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
General:
- Ensure team members are sufficiently equipped for statutory inspection projects.
- Management of project tooling and equipment.
- Management of project consumable stock items such as inspection tags and oils/greases.
- Daily reporting and inspection/checklists.
- Implementing OEG Renewables and client safe systems of work.

Inspection:
- Conducting thorough examinations in line with local legislation such as LOLER and PUWER.
- Fire Extinguisher Inspection.
- TMSE Inspections.
- PFPE Inspections.
- Loose Lifting Equipment Inspections.
- Inspection of Hydraulic systems (PRV’s and accumulators).
- Inspection and Load Testing of WTG nacelle cranes.
- Inspection and Load Testing of Davit Cranes using water weights.
- Inspection and Load Testing of man riding lifts.
Maintenance:
- Able to service and maintain service lifts and cranes listed in “Certification – Required” section above.
- Able to troubleshoot faults and remedy.
- Able to conduct component exchange such as crane wires etc.
Leadership:
- Managing current contractors and employee technicians with support from department manager.
- Managing company reporting on a site level.
- Supporting project manager in tooling and solution delivery.
- Creation of PDF documents.
- Management of project tooling and equipment files.
- Management of Motion Kinetic and My Compliance systems at site level.
Health and Safety:
- Supervision of other team members.
- Promote a safe culture on site.
- Challenge unsafe acts, encourage technicians to do the same and to offer suggestions for improvement.
- Follow and promote adherence to the most recent OEG Renewables safe systems of work.
- Chair TBT’s.
- Work with project management to improve safety arrangements.
- Play an active part in the safety reporting system.
- Encourage team members to contribute to the safety reporting system.
- Follow and encourage adherence with the site rules.

Quality Control:
- Daily checking of project reports to ensure the correct certification has been created and reports completed correctly.
- Logging of all process nonconformities.
- Take an active role in the continual improvement of OEG Renewables quality system and standards.
Environmental:
- Dispose of waste in accordance with waste management procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrable experience and competence within a similar role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Proficient in reporting software, including Motion Kinetic.
- Ability to prioritise and organise tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good understanding of LOLER, PUWER, PSSR and Fire Safety Regulations.
- Relevant vocational training, such as an apprenticeship in a mechanical or electrical discipline (desirable).
- LEEA Foundation – working towards LEEA General (desirable).
Qualifications
- Full UK clean driving licence.
- OEUK Medical.
- Chester Step – score of “Good” or higher.
- GWO BST, including Sea Survival.
- GWO Enhanced First Aid.
- GWO Advanced Rescue Training.
- GWO BTT.
- Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
- TMSE Inspection.
- BAFE Fire Extinguisher Inspection.
- Crane/Wire Rope Inspection.
- PSSR Inspection.
- Skyman TH250 I&M Certificate.
- HIAB V2/V4 I&M Certificate.
- ICM Wire Type Fall Arrest System Inspection Certificate.
- Davit certification.
