Statutory Reporting Accountant – UK&I

As Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for coordinating the statutory reporting process and supporting the successful delivery of year-end financial reporting for all UK trading entities. This includes the preparation and review of extended trial balances (ETBs), the preparation of financial statements and audit requirements to ensure statutory financial statements are prepared and submitted on time.
In addition, you will play a key role in strengthening balance sheet integrity by identifying and resolving historic issues, driving improvements in reconciliations and supporting documentation. The role requires close collaboration with Financial Controllers, Group Finance, Global Business Services, Tax, Legal, Company Secretary, external auditors, and outsourced finance providers.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements for all UK entities, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS 101 and Companies Act requirements.
- Own the preparation and review of Extended Trial Balances (ETBs), ensuring all statutory and audit adjustments are accurately reflected.
- Lead the development, governance and continuous improvement of Workiva, driving greater efficiency, control and standardisation across statutory reporting.
- Provide timely, accurate and comprehensive information to external auditors to facilitate efficient audit reviews of ETBs and statutory financial statements.
- Liaise with third-party tax providers and Group Tax teams to ensure tax balances are accurately reflected in Extended Trial Balances and statutory financial statements.
- Liaising with co-sec to ensure timely approval, signature and filing of statutory financial statements with Companies House.
- Coordinate with Genpact, Legal, Tax and Group Finance teams to ensure all statutory disclosure requirements are complete and accurate.
- Drive improvements in balance sheet integrity, identifying and resolving historic issues, reconciling differences and ensuring robust supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting quality, efficiency and scalability across the finance function.
- Supporting on newly acquired entities to ensure year-end alignment to the group with assistance of Co-sec.
- Ad hoc project work as directed by the Financial Controller

Experience/Qualifications:
Essential:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Ideally trained within a Top 10 or mid-tier audit practice, with experience of external audit and statutory reporting.
- Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements for multiple entities.
- Experience in working with international teams / businesses
- Excellent command of English
- Excellent technical accounting skills and thorough understanding of IFRS / FRS 101 / UK GAAP
- Comfortable in working in an international environment with senior stakeholders
- Top level MS Office skills
