Statutory Reporting Senior Manager | S4 | CFO | Milton Keynes

Country: United Kingdom

IT STARTS HERE

Santander (www.santander.com) is evolving from a global, high-impact brand into a technology-driven organisation, and our people are at the heart of this journey. Together, we are driving a customer-centric transformation that values bold thinking, innovation, and the courage to challenge what’s possible.

This is more than a strategic shift. It’s a chance for driven professionals to grow, learn, and make a real difference.

Our mission is to contribute to help more people and businesses prosper. We embrace a robust risk culture and all our professionals at all levels are expected to take a proactive and responsible approach toward risk management.

CFO Division at Santander UK does a lot more than balance the books. We are a core strategic engine, managing the financial health of one of the UK's largest banks. We are strategists, storytellers, and tech-savvy problem-solvers. We guide big decisions, steer smart investments, and manage risk.

The world of finance is changing fast – new tech, new competitors, evolving customer needs – and we’re right there, helping shape what comes next. We dive into data, stay ahead of regulation, influence how products are built, and make sure Santander UK’s financial health stays fighting fit and evolves to be even more efficient.

You’ll be right in the thick of it. Bringing insights that shape where we put our resources, how we manage risk, and how we deliver value for millions of customers and our shareholders.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

The External Financial Reporting team in the CFO division is looking for a Statutory Reporting Senior Manager based out of Milton Keynes.

You will join a team responsible for preparation of the quarterly earnings release (the QMS), UK and US Annual Reports and Half-Yearly Financial Reports, as well as internal-use quarterly financial statements for Santander UK Group Holdings plc, Santander UK plc and Abbey National Treasury Services plc, including coordinating the other departments who contribute to and review the documents, as well as the external auditors and legal advisors.

We’re shaping the way we work through innovation, cutting-edge technology, collaboration and the freedom to explore new ideas. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the production of significant parts of the UK Annual Reports and Half Yearly Financial Reports, with a focus on designing, planning, populating, and reviewing the Risk review, working with the Risk Division and Investor Relations to ensure that all the data complies with applicable disclosure requirements, including IFRS 7, IFRS 9 and IAS 1.
  • Leading the production of the equivalent elements of the US Annual Reports on Form 20-F and Half Yearly Financial Reports on Form 6-K for US filing purposes.
  • Leading the production of the quarterly earnings release (the QMS).
  • Leading the CFO Division support for debt issuances, including reviews of draft prospectuses, and negotiation of engagement, management representation and comfort letters with external auditors, legal counsel and underwriters.
  • Managing relationships with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and develop and improve their input into the statutory reporting processes, including: Senior management, Directors and Executive Committee, Banco Santander in Madrid, other Finance teams & other Santander UK teams, such as Risk, Legal & Regulatory, & External stakeholders (such as auditors and legal counsel).
  • Identifying and implementing improvements, efficiencies and innovations to the statutory reporting process.
  • Ensuring effective operation of internal controls over the statutory reporting process, including for Sarbanes-Oxley Act purposes.
  • Managing the team members, including qualified and part-qualified staff, apprentices, graduates and contractors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
