Come and make a difference at Karbon as a Staying Connected Assistant

We're looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced individual for the role of Staying Connected Assistant in the Staying Connected Team. The team are at the forefront of Karbon's approach to tackling social isolation in the over 50's.

About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our small team that supports the Staying Connected community. Loneliness and social isolation have a major impact on people's lives across the region. For 14 years, our telephone befriending service has been supporting residents in providing a weekly call to those most in need. Alongside the telephone befriending we also deliver outreach support through a range of social activities and cultural opportunities. As a member of the Place Partnerships and Engagement Team at Karbon Foundation, you will also have opportunity to collaborate with colleagues to help people feel more connected, supported and part of their community.

Based at our Stanley Skills Hub with the opportunity to work from home, you will be a vital part of delivering the rewarding and much needed service by providing support to our community and administrative support to the team.

About You

We're looking for an individual that enjoys working in a busy hub, talking to residents and with great administration skills. We're a small team where flexibility and adaptability are key and we're looking for someone who enjoys the challenges working with our Staying Connected community provides.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
