Tekla Detailer – Structural Steel
📍 Fully Remote – UK
💼 Permanent | Full Time
💰 up to £40,000
You don't need to be sitting in a drawing office to produce good steelwork.
For the right detailer, a laptop, a good set of drawings and a strong understanding of how steel actually goes together can be enough.
This is a fully remote Tekla Detailer role with a specialist structural steel design business working on projects where the detail matters, from initial models through to drawings that are ready to fabricate and build.
The Role
You'll be working closely with the design team to turn structural information into accurate, practical Tekla models and fabrication drawings.
That means understanding more than just what's on the screen.
You'll need to recognise how connections work, how members will be fabricated and how the finished steel will actually be put together on site.

You'll produce detailed 3D models, GA drawings, fabrication drawings and associated information, working through projects from the initial structural information to a package that can be issued for manufacture.
Because the role is fully remote, communication matters. You'll stay closely connected with the design team, discussing technical queries, resolving clashes and making sure projects continue moving without needing to be in the same room.
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience using Tekla Structures
- Previous experience detailing structural steel
- Ability to produce accurate 3D models, GA drawings and fabrication drawings
- Good understanding of steel connections, fabrication and construction
- Ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage your own workload remotely
- Good communication skills and confidence working independently
- UK-based with the ability to work effectively from home
