Charity STEM Educator (Part-Time) – THE LAB22
Location: Guildford, Surrey
We are seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team to deliver our ready-made workshops to pupils in Years 3 to 6, helping spark curiosity and confidence in science.
About THE LAB22
THE LAB22 is a STEM education charity serving primary schools across Guildford and the surrounding area, entirely at no cost to schools. Children from a range of local schools visit our bespoke laboratories for hands-on, two-hour workshops that bring science to life. Our workshops cover five topics of the national curriculum: Forces & Magnets / Electricity / Sound / Materials / Energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a short, engaging introductory lesson (30–40 minutes) using our established materials. No lesson planning is required. All content is drawn from our tried-and-tested Foundation Programme, and full training and resources are provided.
- Supervising and guiding pupils through a hands-on experiment in the laboratory (approximately 1 hour)
- Creating a safe, positive and inspiring learning environment
- Helping to run our holiday camps. The role also requires availability for one or two weeks during some school holidays to help run our camps, which usually run for 9–15 hours overall.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
