Your new company
A forward-thinking London Local Authority is looking to appoint a Stock Condition Surveyor to support the effective management of its residential property portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy asset management team responsible for delivering high-quality housing services and long-term investment planning across a diverse housing stock.
Your new role
As Stock Condition Surveyor, you will play a key role in collecting and maintaining accurate stock condition data to support asset management, capital investment, and compliance programmes. You will undertake condition surveys across residential properties, assess building components and life cycle requirements, and ensure property information is accurately recorded within asset management systems. Alongside stock condition surveys, you will be responsible for producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), creating basic floor plans and section drawings, and identifying maintenance requirements and property defects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
