Role Overview
The Stock Controller and Workshop Support operative is responsible for ensuring the efficient ordering, storage, control, and distribution of parts, equipment, and consumables within the wheelchair servicing workshop. The role supports workshop technicians by maintaining accurate stock levels, managing deliveries and billing, and keeping the workshop and service vans well stocked, safe and tidy, and informing Trust specialists on timelines and progress of parts acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the day to day running of the Mobility Engineering team.
- To ensure that orders for goods and services are placed and delivered in a timely manner in accordance with procedures.
- To Assist the Facilities Manager to develop, implement and improve working methodologies and procedures in order to maintain service delivery.
- To Assist the Facilities Manager in creating a culture which will ensure the delivery of a professional Stock Control service which will be fit for purpose.
- Support work towards identification of savings opportunities monitoring and reporting progress as required.
- To maintain the workshop and storage areas in compliance with Health and Safety and Fire Officer guidance.
- To support the Mobility Engineers by maintaining an efficient working environment and stock management system.
