Supply Chain Warehouse Operative (Level 2) Apprenticeship

This role supports the day-to-day operations of the logistics team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that equipment and race materials are received, stored, and delivered accurately and on time.

What you'll do at work

The Warehouse Operative is responsible for:

  • Receiving and checking incoming deliveries, ensuring they match purchase orders and are recorded correctly in inventory systems
  • Storing goods safely and efficiently, maintaining traceability and accessibility
  • Picking and packing items for internal use and preparing shipments for domestic and international dispatch, often working to tight deadlines aligned with the Formula 1 race calendar
  • Supporting race logistics, which includes preparing freight containers, carefully packing high-value and sensitive equipment, and assisting with shipping documentation where required
  • Conducting regular stock checks and cycle counts, maintaining accurate system records, and supporting stock rotation to minimize waste or obsolescence
  • Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety procedures, ensuring compliant handling of materials and maintaining a clean, organised working environment
  • Being willing and able to be forklift trained

What you'll learn

Course contents

  • Conduct risk assessments within the working environment.
  • Apply safe working practices in line with associated health and safety legislation and company policy.
  • Receive products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Store and pick products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Dispatch products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Decant, pack products in line with organisational procedures.
  • Communicate with others verbally, for example internal and external customers, colleagues, and managers.
  • Communicate in writing with others, for example internal and external customers, colleagues and managers.
  • Load and unload products, considering the product that is to be moved and its current and planned destination.
  • Use tools and equipment to aid in product handling.
  • Use information technology and digital systems. Comply with GDPR and cyber security.
  • Locate and use operational information, electronic or paper based, required to fulfil contractual requirements.
  • Select, prepare, and use packaging materials that reduce waste and mitigate environmental impacts.
  • Support under instruction scheduled and unscheduled stock taking activities relevant to the organisation and product.
  • Identify and escalate problems beyond own responsibility.
  • Follow procedures in line with environmental and sustainability regulations, standards, and guidance. Segregate resources for reuse, recycling and disposal.
  • Follow equity, diversity and inclusion rules.
  • Carry out and record learning and development activities.
  • Conduct handover activities.

Training schedule

Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2
This apprenticeship will be delivered with a blend of online & onsite meetings with the assessor every 4 - 6 weeks until completion of the apprenticeship

Desirable qualifications

  • GCSE in:
    • English (grade 9-4 (A*-C))
    • Maths (grade 9-4 (A*-C))

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

  • Flexibility is required, particularly around peak operational periods driven by the race calendar.
  • A proactive, reliable, and team-focused approach is essential for success in this role.
  • Willingness to travel or support off-site logistics when required.
  • Candidates must be aged 18 or above due to using a forklift (for insurance purposes)
