Stock Controller
Cooneen Group is recruiting for a full-time, permanent Stock Controller to support the day-to-day operation of our Managed Service Centre in Wrexham. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock movements, supporting stock investigations, and ensuring the availability of products to meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate stock records across warehouse systems and locations.
- Monitor stock movements, investigating and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Carry out regular cycle counts and support periodic stock takes.
- Analyse inventory data and produce stock-related reports as required.
- Liaise with warehouse, customer service, and management teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Support goods-in and goods-out processes to ensure stock transactions are completed correctly.
- Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete stock, highlighting issues and recommendations.
- Ensure stock control processes and procedures are followed consistently.
- Assist with system updates, stock adjustments, and master data maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for improving the method of operation in your area of responsibility.
- Implement improvements which have been agreed with your Manager.
- Support an environment in which people feel comfortable to share information, learning, and knowledge within the design team and across the wider business.
- Observe all Company Rules, Standard Operating Procedures, and Company Policies particularly in relation to Health and Safety, Harassment, Disciplinary, and ICT Security.

This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. The successful job holder will be expected to perform varying tasks as required by their line manager and the overall objectives of the organisation.

Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a stock control or inventory role in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Experience investigating and resolving stock discrepancies.
- Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Experience using stock control, warehouse management, or ERP systems.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work effectively to deadlines.
- Current DBS Vetting Check, or willingness to undertake a check.

Desirable Criteria
- GCSE Mathematics and English (or equivalent).
- Experience of PRIMA or a similar warehouse/order management system.
- Previous experience within a distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles and stock reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of Lean or continuous improvement principles.
