Role: Stock Controller

Company: 3PL Contract Logistics Provider
Location: Bedfordshire (South)
Salary & Benefits: Up to £35,000+ Holidays & Package
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

The Company

Loom Talent are proud to have been exclusively appointed to lead the hiring strategy for a new role, Stock Controller, based in Bedfordshire.

Working for a well-established, growing, in-house logistics business that has retained a personal culture while becoming a sophisticated, multi-site operation. With six warehouse locations, around 600,000 sq. ft. of warehousing, and a fleet of 80+ vehicles.

My Client is looking for a proactive, analytical, and people-focused Stock Controller to help them maintain exceptional stock accuracy, improve warehouse performance, and deliver the high levels of service our customers expect.

This is an opportunity to join a busy, multi-site operation where your ideas will be valued, your analytical skills will make a real impact, and no two days will necessarily be the same.

Your role will include:

  • Investigating stock discrepancies, identifying root causes, and implementing solutions to improve stock accuracy and reduce losses.
  • Analysing inventory data, performance metrics, and trends to uncover opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
  • Turning data into clear, meaningful insights that help teams make better decisions.
  • Working closely with Site Managers, warehouse colleagues, customers, and our Data Analysis Manager to strengthen stock integrity and reporting.
  • Leading stock takes and ensuring cycle counts are completed accurately and consistently across our sites.
  • Reviewing warehouse layouts, processes, and stock adjustment trends to identify and deliver improvements.
  • Maintaining accurate master data and helping develop more effective Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
  • Getting involved in operational projects that support business growth and better ways of working.

You'll combine time on the warehouse floor with data analysis and collaboration across our sites, ensuring that improvements work in practice, not just on paper.

🔍 What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate for the role of Stock Controller is naturally curious, enjoys a challenge, and isn't afraid to ask questions or suggest a better way.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in stock control, inventory management, or a similar role.
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI experience would be a bonus.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information simply.
  • A logical, solutions-focused mindset and an interest in continuous improvement.
  • Strong organization and planning skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
  • A collaborative approach, balanced with the confidence to work independently and take ownership.
  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Above all, someone who enjoys working with people just as much as working with data, is keen to learn, and wants to make a genuine difference.
