In this fast-paced Stock Controller role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and organisation of the stockroom at Selfridges Oxford Street. Working closely with the store management team, you will ensure stock is received, stored, replenished, and maintained accurately and efficiently, supporting the smooth running of the business and ensuring products are available when needed.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a hands-on approach and a genuine interest in working within a fast-paced luxury beauty retail environment.
The role will be primarily based in the stockroom, with a strong focus on maintaining excellent stockroom standards, processing deliveries, replenishing the shop floor, managing lost sale reports, and keeping stock records accurate.
WHAT YOU DO:
Stockroom Management
- Manage the day-to-day organisation and upkeep of the stockroom.
- Ensure all stock is stored neatly, safely, and in an organised manner.
- Receive and process deliveries accurately and efficiently.
- Check deliveries against delivery notes and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure new stock is correctly labelled, organised, and stored.
- Ensure stock is easy to locate and readily available when required.

Stock Replenishment
- Replenish stock on the shop floor as required throughout the day.
- Record lost sales and liaise with the Hourglass Operations team to rectify.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure key products are available for the store team and customers.
- Respond quickly to replenishment requests from the management team.
- Complete Tester and Collateral orders: ensure testers and relevant stock requirements are replenished where appropriate.
- Communicate any stock shortages or availability issues to our Operations team.
Stock Accuracy
- Support regular stock counts and inventory checks.
- Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately.
- Investigate and report stock discrepancies where required.
- Process stock transfers, returns, damages through our DIF process.
- Support stocktakes and other inventory activities as required.
Team Support
- Work closely with the Hourglass management team to understand daily stock requirements.
- Respond to requests from team members in a timely and helpful manner.
- Support the wider team during deliveries, launches, events, and busy trading periods.
- Communicate clearly with the team regarding stock availability and any issues.
WHAT YOU’LL GAIN:

- Hands-on experience across stock management, inventory, and retail operations.
- An understanding of how effective stock management supports a successful retail business.
- Experience working alongside both Selfridges and brand teams.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a stockroom, warehouse, retail, or similar operational role is desirable.
- Previous experience within beauty or luxury retail is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage daily responsibilities independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable with the physical aspects of the role, including moving and handling stock.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems and stock management systems.
- Flexible and willing to support the wider store team when required.
- Must be able to travel to Selfridges Oxford Street for the duration of the 3-month fixed term contract, including Christmas and New Year.
