Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This role offers something different from a traditional seat within a large institution.

You will join a growing, entrepreneurial trading environment where strong performers can take on responsibility quickly.

The opportunity offers:

  • Direct exposure to experienced traders and decision-makers
  • A particular focus on HTB, event-driven, and special situations, rather than purely commoditised flow
  • Greater ownership of positions, counterparties, and trading opportunities
  • The ability to develop both your trading skillset and commercial network
  • A flatter environment with significantly more visibility and responsibility
  • The opportunity to grow with the desk rather than wait for the next seat to become available
  • A genuine platform for an ambitious junior / mid-level trader to accelerate their career

This would suit someone who has learned the fundamentals within an established securities lending platform and is now ready to step into a more commercial, performance-driven role with considerably greater upside and responsibility.
