Job Description
As Stock Manager you will have full responsibility for ensuring that the depot equipment from end to end is diligently managed. This will be carried out in a dynamic and busy business unit, ensuring all stock management processes are fully adhered to.
Reporting to the Senior Manager you will need to have the ability to work autonomously as well as being a team player whilst ensuring that the values and business stock management expectations are fully adhered to.
You must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a busy team and actively support and progress their development promoting a continuous improvement ethos.
This role will suit a self-motivated professional who is process-driven and has a keen eye for detail and is looking for a new challenge and can envisage business improvement opportunities and embrace a purposeful desire to work collaboratively within the depot team to achieve them.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the quantitative, quality, and status of our extensive Goresbrook depot inventory ensuring availability and snapshot accuracy of Stock on our inventory management system.
- Ensuring all processes are implemented and adhered to, to ensure the quantity, quality, and status of Stock.
- Work closely with our operational team to support the prompt processing of orders.
- Adopt an ownership approach to maintaining the accurate data entry onto inventory management system to promote transparency within the depot and wider business.
- Ensure all out and inbound stock is processed correctly.
- Ensure that all client stock management processes are followed ranging from day-to-day transactions to wider company stock control activities.
- Working with Senior Operations Manager to review and report on ongoing stock levels to ensure a proactive approach to maintaining depot stock levels.
- Drive the standards needed to ensure end-to-end stock management within the depot ensuring it meets the standards expected by the client.
- Managing stock count and stock reconciliation as appropriate (to ensure the timely and efficient resolution of all stock anomalies for all stock at all depots and storage companies.
- Rectifying problems and non-conformance to specification.
- Participate in meetings to improve productivity, resolve customer service issues, and manage daily workload.
- Managing daily stock reconciliation.
- Site utilization management (full governance and responsibility for ensuring the site has sufficient space to operate and accommodate the day's volumes).
- Managing PI checks / Cycle counts and FIFO in pick face and reserves.
- Non-conformance management.
- Ensuring staff are compliant with stock audit requirements.
- Forecasting, planning, and liaising with other departments making sure correct resources are in place to match volumes.
- Develop good relationship with the warehouse, transport, and store management to promote stock integrity.
- Provide weekly report on stock availability and service performance levels.
- Monitoring stock performance and due diligence.
- Ensure all Customer Requirements are being met in relation to the safe storage, picking, and despatching of stock as required.
- Ensure that all Site Goods in and Out activities are effectively managed.
- Managing the briefing process ensuring all staff are aware of their daily responsibility's checks, stock control processes, and daily requirements are correctly dealt with.
- Proactively manage the day-to-day requirements of the Customer.
- Ensure all Customer Requirements in relation to Stock Control are met and maintained.
- Build and develop a good working relationship with the customers’ representatives.
- Monitor, develop, and maintain any agreed site-specific KPIs required by the customer.
- Have a working knowledge of the commercial implications of all contractual agreements that are in place with each customer.
- Proactively manages performance within the team effectively, by conducting regular appraisals and objective setting.
- Develop efficient and effective administration processes to support the site in delivering key KPIs.
- Manage and control of stock levels and periodic reporting to senior management.
- Execute inventory control measures to ensure the company minimizes stock holdings and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy.
- Minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete and redundant products to minimize waste and reduce overall cost.
- Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
- Compliance with stock audits requirements.
- Train and develop team members, motivating team to ensure targets, deadlines, and accuracy are clearly understood and being achieved.
- Providing and Managing the highest level of service to the customers through timely communication, liaison with the warehouse, scheduling deliveries, and dealing with all queries generated.
- Monthly Customer’s review on Health and Safety, Productivity, finance, and service level.

- IOSH Managing Safely
- ESLL Accident Investigation Process
- ESLL Disciplinary training
- IT Literate including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of key ESLL Systems (WMS / SAP etc).
- Working knowledge of WTD Legislation
- Working knowledge of any specific site-related legislation (EFSIS etc).
- HACCP Foundation
- Qualified understanding of the Operations Manager's Key Responsibilities Matrix
Desirable
- Equivalent of 5 GCSE’s Grade C or above.
