Mahalo

Mahalo is a fast-growing speciality fine food and drink wholesaler supplying hundreds of independent farm shops and delis with outstanding artisan products.

We're looking for a Warehouse Operative

We're looking for a smart, practical and hands-on person to join our warehouse team in Ongar, near Brentwood. This is a physical warehouse role so you'll be on your feet, managing inventory, investigating discrepancies, fulfilling orders and developing processes to improve how the warehouse operates. If you're someone who likes getting stuck into a problem, understanding how things work and making a system run properly, this might be the perfect job for you.

You don't need years of warehouse experience. We're more interested in someone who is reliable, switched-on, organised and interested in taking ownership and progressing in their career in operations.

What you'll be doing

Under the instruction of the Warehouse Team Lead, you'll be involved in the day-to-day running of our warehouse, including:

Stock & Inventory

  • Receiving, checking and putting away incoming deliveries
  • Conducting regular stock takes and ensuring physical stock matches our inventory records
  • Investigating discrepancies when the numbers don't match
  • Making sure products are stored correctly and stock is rotated to minimise waste
  • Tracking damaged, missing or short-delivered goods and reporting issues
  • Helping us improve the accuracy and organisation of our stock

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Warehouse Operations

  • Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Preparing the appropriate regulatory and delivery documentation
  • Relocating products using forklifts, pump trucks and other MHE equipment
  • Loading and unloading deliveries
  • Liaising with third-party logistics providers regarding collections and deliveries
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe

Getting Involved

As you become familiar with the operation, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and get involved in stock control, systems, reporting and process improvement. We're a small and growing business, so you'll be able to see how the different parts of the operation connect: from a supplier delivering stock, through our warehouse and inventory system, all the way to an order leaving for an independent retailer.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Bright, curious and good at solving problems
  • Highly organised and naturally detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working with numbers, systems and spreadsheets
  • Reliable and takes pride in getting things right
  • Happy doing physical, hands-on work every day
  • Comfortable taking responsibility rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • A good communicator who can work well with suppliers, drivers and colleagues
  • Interested in understanding how a business actually operates
