Job Description: Stop Smoking Advisor
Health Promotion Fife is seeking a Stop Smoking Advisor to support the delivery of NHS Fife’s Stop Smoking Service and contribute to the Fife Health and Social Care Partnership’s Smoking Cessation Local Delivery Plan Target for 2026/27.
This full-time post will play an important role in improving the health and wellbeing of people across Fife by delivering high-quality, evidence-based stop smoking support in line with national and local tobacco control strategies, policy and service priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering evidence-based stop smoking interventions across Fife, with a focus on people and families within priority and inequalities groups.
- Increasing engagement at community level, particularly within the most deprived communities and with groups experiencing health inequalities.
- Undertaking client assessments, making appropriate pharmacotherapy decisions, providing ongoing client support, and completing 4-week and 12-week follow-up outcomes.
- Using effective engagement approaches to support referrals from the four priority groups into the Stop Smoking Service.

Requirements
- Demonstrate an understanding of health inequalities and how these relate to tobacco use and vaping.
- Experience of delivering behaviour change interventions, along with knowledge and skills in health improvement, would be desirable.
- Hold a relevant professional or academic qualification or have significant experience of providing stop smoking support on a one-to-one and group basis.
